In 1992, just after graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 with a job at the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65-foot halibut boat was turned into a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple is a commercial fisherman for more than twenty years. Bossard and Aritan are married now and have joined forces in claiming their share of their industry. Both are in favor of conserving resources and maximising the profits.
